LINDA D. TRIMUEL has been a state-licensed
child care provider since August 1999; and, she was one of
the first day care homes to be licensed by the Village of
Lynwood. However, even before opening her first home child care she’d often care for children other
than her own which included weekend stays and other times when she was not at work. She has a
genuine concern for the physical, spiritual and intellectual well-being of each and every child she meets.
As a child herself, Linda was an over-achiever. She was valedictorian of both her grade school and high
school graduating classes. And, as a senior in high school, she became the first black state president and
the first state president from Thornridge High School of the Distributive Education Clubs of America.
Linda attended DePaul University in Chicago where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Communications. She just recently received her Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School
in Lansing, Michigan.
Linda comes from a family of entrepreneurs and has always desired to operate her own business.
Before opening her own child care home, she came up with a “top ten” list which included ten most
important issues that she and other parents faced when placing their children in various day care
environments. Then, after opening Linda’s Personal Touch, she designed and implemented the best
methods of improving upon the quality of care being offered in her community. Today, as a single mother
of three, she manages two state licensed home-based child care facilities: one located in Lynwood, Illinois
and the other in Hammond, Indiana. Two of her children, Brittany Burt and Milton Burt, Jr. are also
entrepreneurs, but work diligently with their mom in making Linda’s Personal Touch a continued success.

her plan is to continue to provide quality child care services to the surrounding communities.
