This Month's Topic:
Given the current decline in our economy,
what can child care providers do to keep our doors open?
Each time a working parent with small children loses his or her
job, more than likely a childcare provider also loses a fee. Let’s
face it, our “job” for the most part is dependent upon others
keeping their jobs. Now, since the economy doesn’t appear to be
improving any time soon, we as entrepreneurs in general must
become more proactive in finding new ways to expand our
businesses. It is always great when you can offer a product or
service that no one else has; because this sets your business
apart from all of your competitors. But sometimes this means
that we have to do extensive research in order to determine the
needs of our clients or potential clients; and then introduce
programs or services that meet those particular needs. There
are numerous other services that could be incorporated with a
childcare business; you just have to find one that works for you
and your clients. Just understand that the clients who have
chosen you as their childcare provider, did so because they trust
you; and in most cases they trust your opinion and suggestions
on more issues that just those concerning your children. If it is
important to them for you to be able to continue to care for their
children, then they will be supportive of you in other endeavors,
as long as those endeavors do not interfere or negatively impact
the care of their children.
Currently, I have been introduced to a unique opportunity that
has allowed me to expand my childcare business beyond
anything I could have ever imagined. This opportunity is one I
